AJ and I have been royally entertained by common English phrases and by what not to say as Americans here (unfortunately, we speak from experience!). We thought we would start a blog pinpointing some of them so you can be well rehearsed, just in case you come for a visit! :)
(American phrase = English equivalent)
1. khaki pants = poopy underpants
2. do not say 'fanny pack' here! = "hip pack" is more appropriate
3. you're welcome = it's alright!
4. it's cold outside = it's really fresh
5. nice outfit = you look smart
6. cell phone = mobile
7. to add more = top-up
8. drawings = drawrings (this one's hilarious!)
